About Us

Established in 2008, Rising Star Academy is leading the independent preschool community by its commitment to diversity and excellence.
We are an academy built on 1.5 acres of land conveniently located close to the Grand Parkway and I-10 Hwy. Rising Star Academy serves children from 6 weeks of age up to 12 years of age with an enhanced curriculum to help them grow and learn. Rising Star Academy Richmond has been serving the community since 2008.

Enrichment Programs
- Spanish & American Sign Language - Your little one is naturally designed to soak up and learn languages through language development. Rising Star Academy understands that children need to be exposed to several forms of language in the early years, which is why our curriculum starts integrating Spanish and American Sign Language as early as 6 weeks of age.
- Gymnastics & Dance - At Rising Star Academy we have an indoor gym that is accessible for use throughout the day. The children will be taught the basics of gymnastics in a safe, fun and loving environment. The children will be able experience flips, rolls, crab walking, cart wheels, and different gross motor exercise to work out the large and small muscle groups.
- Music & Movement - Rising Star Academy understands that children are stimulated to learn through music and movement. Our music and movement program provides amazing weekly classes where the kids learn to read music, play and create instruments. The best part is that your child will be exposed to different cultural experiences through music!
- STEAM - At Rising Star Academy, we have a room dedicated to our Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics Program, also known as STEAM. Students will learn about human body, solar systems, chemistry, conduct experiments, and much more! Our TEA approved STEAM program helps mold the children's young minds into critical thinkers as it increases science literacy and helps prepare them better for the real world challenges.
- Gardening - Our 3 and 4 year old students are exposed to the concepts of gardening. During the Spring and Summer time, they will be able plant and care for the garden, offering them a true sense of ownership. Children will be able to see the process of how a plant transforms from a seedling to a vegetable, flower, and/or fruit! Our students find this whole experience very fulfilling and exciting!
Summer Camp Program
Join us for an adventure-packed summer at Rising Star Academy! Each week offers a unique theme with exciting field trips and hands-on activities designed for your campers, and guaranteeing a fun and safe summer filled with natural learning opportunities. Our summer camp has activities to fit all campers' interests!

- Field Trips : Twice a week, campers will get to go on exciting and educational field trips! We have excursions planned at the Children’s Museum, Main Event, Houston Museum of Natural Science’s "Dino Day”, Rainforest Café, Houston Zoo, Old MacDonald’s Farm, Houston Interactive Aquarium, and much more!
- Experience : Children learn by doing! At Rising Star Summer Camp, campers will enjoy new experiences - participating in STEM experiments, fun projects, and weekly cooking activities!
- Create : Children need a creative outlet to express themselves! Campers will have many opportunities for arts and crafts. They even get to work together to create and film their own movie trailer!
- Play : At Rising Star Summer Camp, our campers enjoy weekly splash days, plus games and sports. We will even be hosting our own Kids vs. Grown-Ups Soccer Tournament!
Our Staff
At Rising Star Academy our staff "Shoots for the Stars"! We strive to hire teachers who genuinely care to meet your families' needs, not just "day care workers". We look for teachers who are passionate, feel called to the profession and love spending their days with early learners.
Our teachers are considered and hired based on the following criteria:
- CDA (or in the process of attaining their CDA)
- Early childhood associates degree
- Bachelor degrees
- Experience
- Classroom working interviews
- Compatibility with children/staff
- Recommendations from previous supervisors
- Current staff classroom observations

I can not say enough good things about Rising Star Academy! We have been going here for year and have had such a great experience. More than 5 stars need to be given!! I LOVE this location so much! We moved in mid-March about 20 minutes away and I still will make the drive so my daughter goes here. All of the staff are amazing and so sweet to the kiddos. Maggie is an AMAZING Director!!! My daughter is so happy coming here, I will be bringing her back each Holiday break! If you are looking for an affordable place in Richmond, this is where you need to bring your kiddos...Seriously!!!

No words can fully describe how much this daycare has meant to my family. My two children had such amazing teachers that they absolutely loved! I trusted that my children were not only well cared for but that they were learning so much! Loved the themes, the family included events, all the take home memorable crafts and how much EVERYONE showered my children with kindness. I absolutely love this daycare! My son has been there for 2 years already! And he loves going to school every day and he loves his teachers! He is the only child so I'm glad he's able to make some good friends! He has been learning so much! He shocks me everyday!
